Prime Minister Dr. Markus Söder hosted the traditional New year’s reception of the state government for the first time. On 11 January 2019, the CSU politician and his wife Karin Baumüller-Söder welcomed more than 1,700 invited guests from all regions of Bavaria in the Kaisersaal (Imperial Hall) of the Residence. The guests included state and federal members of parliament and ministers as well as many famous politicians, cultural luminaries, sport celebrities, leading business and public figures. In contrast to the past two years, during Horst Seehofer's (Söder's predecessor) time in office, this year saw a parade again.

Our Munich Brähler Convention Branch was responsible for the entire technical preparation and implementation of this New Year’s reception. On the whole, 6 halls as well as various staircases and foyers of the Munich Residence were provided with event equipment.

The lighting equipment included battery-powered LEDs, moving heads, LED bars as well as floodlights; The sound equipment included various Meyersound loudspeakers. To ensure that the speech could be followed by all guests of the New Year's reception, displays were placed throughout the Residence. Trusses and light towers were installed to incorporate the technical equipment and, of course, we managed the top-class event right from the set-up through to disassembly.

A total of 6 tonnes of event equipment were used.
